Why The Orange Habit Accepts Bitcoin (and Yes, Even Crypto)

At The Orange Habit, we’re Bitcoiners through and through. We understand Gresham’s Law—the idea that people spend “bad money” and hoard “good money.” That’s why many Bitcoiners hesitate to part with their sats, preferring to spend fiat or other digital assets instead. We get it.

But here’s why we accept Bitcoin—and, yes, even crypto—despite knowing most people will choose to hold their BTC rather than spend it.

1. Supporting Circular Bitcoin Economy

The only way to move toward a world where Bitcoin is the dominant money is to use it in real transactions. By accepting Bitcoin, we help strengthen the circular economy, allowing Bitcoiners to support a business that aligns with their values instead of feeding into the fiat system.

2. Self-Custody & Censorship Resistance

Accepting Bitcoin means cutting out middlemen, reducing our reliance on the traditional banking system, and keeping transactions peer-to-peer. This aligns with our belief in sovereignty, both financial and personal.

3. Helping Onboard More People to Bitcoin

Many people are still holding onto crypto assets and haven’t made the full leap to Bitcoin yet. If accepting a variety of digital assets means bringing more people into the orange-pilled mindset, we’re here for it. We provide the signal, the education, and the products that remind people where the real value lies.

4. Leading by Example

The best way to show that Bitcoin is real money is to use it as real money—not just talk about it. By running a Bitcoin-accepting business, we prove that Bitcoin isn’t just a store of value; it’s also a medium of exchange that works today.

What If You Don't Want to Spend Your Sats?

No problem. If you prefer to spend fiat and stack sats, we respect that too. Our goal isn’t to pressure anyone to part with their BTC—it’s simply to offer the option for those who want to use it.

Bitcoin isn’t just a speculative asset. It’s the future of money. And here at The Orange Habit, we’re building that future one transaction at a time.
